REBABBITTING SERVICES

FOR CENTRIFUGAL PUMP BEARINGS AND ELECTRIC MOTOR BEARINGS

Rebabbitting Services is also one of the many services we provide our customers. Why buy a new Pump Bearing or a new Electric Motor Bearing when they can be Rebabbitted. All Bearing Shells must be stripped of all the old Babbitt Metal to provide a strong hold. The old Babbitt can be melted away by dipping the Bearing Shell in a pot of old molten Babbitt. The old Babbitt can also be sandblasted, chipped out, or melted away with a blow torch. After removal of Babbitt, all shells are inspected for cracks. Grade 2 Genuine Babbitt is used. It strongly resists chipping, cracking and has remarkable durability, whenever Bearings are exposed to wear and shock. Babbitt free Bearing Shells are put through a tining process to insure maximium bonding. While the tined surface is fresh the Babbitt is poured.
